A Multifaceted American Artist, Maker, Pioneer, & Innovator

 

Cristy Corso, an interdisciplinary artist, hails originally from Chicagoland and has lived in many urban landscapes across the United States.  She has achieved numerous awards & accolades making her an awarded, accomplished, recognizable, and celebrated artist for almost two decades.  Her innovative spirit and dedication to her craft have been evident since her formative years.  She has gained recognition from renowned & well known public figures, art circles, and institutions like The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and intensive studies at schools including Parsons School of Design in New York City.
 

Corso's entrance into the art world began with her private studies of realism painting, under internationally renowned artists, before turning twenty years of age.  This included artists Julie Rotblatt-Amrany & Omri Amarany –  known for her realism oil paintings & of athletes to his bronze Michael Jordan sculpture at the United Center in Chicago. Corso’s studies early with the renowned artists led to her first exhibitions.  This led to invites into more reportable shows, which led to commissions, collaborations, & collectors early in life.  This includes her juror exhibitions, composed of esteemed Yale art professors and top educators, which contributed to her dozens of awards.

By her early twenties, she ran into a reality show stint pioneering on primetime television then & identified her as an artist.  The National media exposure added to Corso’s introduction as an American artist on the rise.  Her style can derive from growing up in the mid-nineties of alternative to street art subculture. Corso’s heritage is Native American, from the KeetooWah Band, of the Cherokee Nation and of Venetian Italian descent, which influences her vibrant and theatrical artistic expression.

 

Artistic Achievements and Exhibitions

Corso's work has been selected & featured in international art books, magazines, prestigious exhibitions, & high-profile galas to festivals.  This includes The Met Opera House to festivals like “Life is Beautiful,” Las Vegas but does not exclude festivals of film like Sundance in Utah.  Celebrity galas ranged from many Iconic Awards ceremonies to the Oscars in Los Angeles.  In contrast, her commitment to the many communities, & on going contributions, is demonstrated through, surviving traumatic experiences &, insatiable drive.

Not a stranger to fashion, Cristy was chosen by the world class Ford Model & Talent agency, contributing to the exclusive examples of her artistry.  The art driven experiences with top models, luxury designers & retailers, fashion week runways including New York City.  Fashion, & vast array of other influences, have helped integrate her many unprecedented styles.  In genres such as painting, digital art & photography, New Media technology, found objects, light sculptures, fabrications, & public murals.

 

Each piece tells a story that is carefully crafted, from select archival quality materials, capturing the essence of Corso’s experiences and emotions.  This provides her captivating color, depth, & dexterity in new ways. Regardless, Corso's work remains a testament to her renowned resilience, artistry, and dedication to her visual & interactive storytelling.  Corso has also enjoyed being selected for artist talks, being a moderator, and juror for museum exhibitions.
